On Thursday, 4 December 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of students from the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK), who are specializing in the downstream segment of the oil and gas industry. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to explore Bora Lubricants’ production processes and quality assurance practices on site.

The program began with an introduction to our laboratory. The students were shown how base oil quality—particularly viscosity—is tested, how small-scale product formulations are developed, and how approved formulations move into mass production in our large blending units. Safety procedures were emphasized at every stage. They also learned that the blending process takes approximately four hours, after which product samples are taken for laboratory analysis. Once the product passes all quality control tests, it is prepared for packaging.

During the tour, we also introduced our transformer oils, metalworking fluids, fuel control solutions, and smart filtration systems, explaining the quality checks applied to each of these product lines.

The UPIK students showed great interest in our operations and expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive technical insight they gained into the lubrication business.
